Washington, D.C., 25 September 2024 (¹ú²úÂ鶹¾«Æ·) – The ¹ú²úÂ鶹¾«Æ· (¹ú²úÂ鶹¾«Æ·), in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPBS in Spanish) of Paraguay, held a training workshop on the application of public financial management tools in health.
The workshop aimed to strengthen officials' capacity in the application of these tools, which enable better planning, execution, and monitoring of resources allocated to health. During the training, practical work was done on identifying financial bottlenecks and optimizing budget execution, contributing to the resilience of the health system.
In addition to MSPBS officials, decision-makers from other institutions participated, such as the Ministry of Economy and Finance, including its general directors, regional directors, and administrative technicians, as well as representatives of local health councils, who play key roles in regulatory, supervisory, management, and service provision functions.
By supporting these activities, ¹ú²úÂ鶹¾«Æ· emphasizes the relevance of incorporating lessons learned from the pandemic into this process, which will facilitate the identification of areas for improvement and the implementation of effective strategies for smart health spending.
